Its been 18 months since Alex Banx & Cin Rivera founded LYNX FOR LESBIANS in LA. They told Queerguru that LYNX recognizes the unique societal oppressions experienced by those facing the intersection of homophobia, misogyny, gender bias, and racial injustice. Despite multiple layers of oppression coming at us and our loved ones combined with the lack of support systems, they’re still determined to thrive and bring all of their friends along with them
With no money, both founders facing financial hardships, but a lot of love, they launched their first event in July of 2024 and and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
They told Queerguru that the laughs, the smiles, seeing BIPOC Lesbians and friends come together in a fun and uplifting space make the long nights, stressful situations, and wonderful collaborations all worth it. You can find out ALL about them https://sites.google.com/view/alexbanx/about-us.
However if you are in the LA area, then you could check them out for yourself. On Feb 18th they are holding Round 3 of a Speed Dating Event, which they say are intent on building sustainable and mutually empowering lesbian relationships: platonic, romantic, professional, and/or otherwise.
