Love Is Love: Thailand celebrates with one enormous wedding of 300 Same Sex Couples.

Today, in Thailand, February 23, same sex marriages are now legal to be registered due to Thailand’s move toward full marriage equality, and QUEERGURU was on site in the person of Paul Overdijk, co-chair advisory board at Workplace Pride, Amsterdam, Netherlands, who sent us these wonderful pictures he took at the mass wedding event at Paragon Hall, in central Bangkok.

Paul said: “Today I attended the largest wedding party I have ever seen: some 300 same-sex couples married on the first day possible here. Paragon Hall was filled with happy people and their supporters. The PM, former PM, cabinet members, and ambassadors showed their support. Thailand shows the world that Love is Love!

We’ve written before informing readers of the pre-passage of this law, the passage and a few days ago the momentous positive events planned for “DAY ONE” in Thailand which contracts sharply with negative, backwards events that took place DAY ONE in the US two days prior where the country moved quickly end a range of policies aimed at promoting racial equity and protecting rights for LGBTQ+ people.

Report by Glenn John Once upon a loooong time ago, Glenn moved from NYC to Bangkok (pre-covid, the most visited city on Earth Forbes mag.et al)  and suddenly he wants to let everyone know a bit more about Thailand (per capita, the queerest country on Earth – his stats) and maybe some of the LGBTQI+ happenings in the neighboring countries also.
