Legendary queer author MARTIN SHERMAN is to be the next guest on THE SHOW PEOPLE Podcast

We decided to check back and see what multi-award-winning theatre director Andrew Keates  has been up too since he founded his project QUEER THEATRE in London back in September  2024 (see HERE).  One of the Theatres’ missions was to nurture LGBTQIA- theatre makers with pride, in the form of classes, specialist workshops, one-night-only events, and social/networking functions. Judging by their website, they have achieved this and so much more.

Queer Theatre had evolved from  Arion Productions Ltd when Keates teamed up with Executive Producer Andrew Harmer at the Landor Theatre in Clapham, when Keates was directing shows like Martin Sherman’s Bent.  Fast forward some 24 years, and now Sherman,  still one of the most important voices in queer theatre will be joining Keatees or The Show People Podcast LIVE at @the2brewers in London on Wednesday 11 February,

As well as  Bent, he has written  Rose, Gently Down the Stream, Onassis, Messiah, When She Danced, A Madhouse in Goa, and many more. His screen work includes the BAFTA-nominated Mrs Henderson Presents and the Tony-nominated Broadway musical The Boy From Oz. He is currently adapting Frank and Percy for film, starring Sir Ian McKellen.

Sherman has also just penned his memoir ON THE BOARDWALK, which he will be signing after the recording
