Award-winning Australian cabaret performer Kim David Smith has two major obsessions (well, that he admits too). Two M’s ….as in Kyle Minogue and the late great Marlene Deitrich. It’s mainly the latter that he shares the stage with in his smash hit show Mostly Marlene. He has actually been labeled the “male Marlene Dietrich” by The New York Times, and the Broadway World added that he is slyly suberise and dubbed him the David Bowie of cabaret
Now after touring extensively, he is bringing the show back to Provincetown complete with the glitter, doom, and decadence of 1920’s Berlin. Plus he tells Queerguru he has added a modicum of two more M’s: Minnelli and Madonna His performance at Post Office Cabaret on Thursday, June 8 at 8:30pm is part of the Town’s Cabaretfest and as usual we expect the show to be sold out.
The last time Queerguru saw the show, we sat down with Kim Davis Smith to talk all about it :
