Award-winning Australian cabaret performer Kim David Smith has two major obsessions (well, that he admits too). Two M’s ….as in Kyle Minogue and the late great Marlene Deitrich.  It’s mainly the latter that he shares the stage with in his smash hit show Mostly Marlene.  He has actually been labeled the “male Marlene Dietrich” … Continue reading

Broadway performers/actors Todd Buonopane (30 Rock Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) and Michael Buchanan (The Book of Mormon on Broadway The Addams Familyi) have been friends for nearly 20 years. And they’ve been gay even longer than that! But how did they get soooooo gay? Todd & Michael will explore that question with the songs of Broadway, 80’s pop and even the Muppets in SONGS THAT MADE US GAY playing for two nights at the Post Office Cafe and Cabaret in PTOWN and they told QUEERGURU all about it

PS Yesterday we interviewed @ToddBuonopan  &  @buckybuchanan91on the eve of their new show SONGS THAT MADE US GAY at @PostOfficePtown (bit.ly/3SKggom) but TONIGHT we went to see them perform in their hilarious show and best of all IT MADE US GAY

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , , ,

The Queerguru Team has interviewed several hundred drag queens/artistes over the years and once in a while one exceptional one stops us in our tracks . Lawanda Jackson is such a case. A headlining act in Las Vegas, a very successful career with a big global following until 2014 when a totally unexpected brain aneurysm and stroke knocked her down …… but far from out.

When you meet her now you will understand why this was far from the end of her story, but just another chapter. She was in PTown as a special guest performing at Anita Cocktail Provincetown Drag Bunch at Post Office Cafe and Cabaret and we jumped at the opportunity to share her story. Its one of love and is both inspiring and uplifting PLEASE check it out,  it will make your day so much better

Miss Anita Cocktail .. the busiest drag queen in Ptown spills the beans with Queerguru

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , ,

One of the many things that the queer mecca of PTown can truly boast about is a wonderful coterie of truly talented local Drag Queens. True Mz Ru occasionally sends in one of two of her overdressed televisual queens, but there can be nothing better than being entertained by someone who is a real part of our own community. Ms ANITA COCKTAIL is one such performer …. and probably one of the most popular and successful ones too. Hosting and starring in two Drag Brunches and three Variety Hours each week she also finds time to act as the Mother Hen to all the other acts at the newly refurbished Post Office Cafe and Cabaret now one of the best venues in time. Queerguru caught up with her between shows to find out about her plans this summer
