Please don’t judge QUEERGURU badly just because we winter in Florida. It is possible to soak up the sun and avoid the State’s morals. Or rather the lack of them.
The latest upstanding public figure who struggles with practicing what they preach is James Fishback, a 31-year-old Republican hedge fund manager, who wants to replace Ron DeSantis as Governor. As part of his potential manifest he has just made an announcement revealing his plans to unleash a 50% “sin tax” on racy Only F*ns content creators.
Fishback has explained his ideas thus “As Florida governor, I don’t want young women who could otherwise be mothers raising families, rearing children, I don’t want them to be selling their bodies to sick men online. And I don’t want young, impressionable men who have strayed from Christ, who have strayed from our Lord and Savior to be told, and to be drawn into lust, and have their entire brain rewired.”
The trouble is that the arrogant Fishback has dared to go public in such a way that automatically attracts the attention of his distracters who want to know more about why he should preach about taking such a high moral ground. It didn’t take them long. Last month, NBC reported that a Florida school district cut ties with Fishback in 2022 over allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with a student who was a minor at the time.
In 20i9 when Fishback founded Incubate Debate, a platform to promote debates in schools, he became involved with a woman named Keinah Fort, This became public knowledge last year when she took legal action seeking protection from Fishback. She says her relationship with Fishback began in 2022, when she was 17, and he was 27 years old. When she turned 18, she says they became briefly engaged. She says Fishback threw things at her “on multiple occasions.”
