The phone rang in the middle of this Sunday afternoon, and I discovered it was a good friend who is also a very regular queerguru reader.
‘There’s someone here who wants to talk to you’, and before I can even reply an unmistakable voice comes booming down …Hello It’s It Me That You are Looking For?’ Earlier this year we had written about the singing sensation/musical superstar/iconic gay diva Miss Margarita Pracatan who has been wowing gay audiences for years with her own inimitable style, and now she was on the phone to me. To be perfectly honest at first I thought it was a prank, but no she was unquestionably the real thing, and I was in heaven. She is such a breath of fresh air with her boundless energy and idiosyncratic style that I have loved her since she burst on to UK TVs in the 1990’s.
My equally obsessed friend was in New York for the weekend and just thought he would try and track La Pracatan, and when he was successful, he invited out for brunch which she readily accepted. In our brief conversation she managed to invite herself to my impending nuptials next month. That will surely liven things up in Church.
