Puerto Vallarta is widely recognized as a very gay-friendly destination, particularly its Zona Romántica. It’s known as the “gay capital of Mexico” and is a popular spot for LGBTQ+ travelers seeking a welcoming and vibrant vacation experience. The city boasts a thriving gay scene with hotels, bars, and restaurants catering to the community, as well as a famous gay beach, Playa de los Muertos. Yet not all the locally based busineses feel the same.
Take the Marriott owned Sheraton Buganvillas Hotel who were shockingly discriminatory to a same-sex couple, Jeremy Alexander and Ryan Sheepwash, while they were attempting to book their wedding. What they were confronted with ii, is not just illegal, but totally indespicable. Their viral Instagram post highlights stark discrepancies in pricing and availability compared to a heterosexual couple booking under identical conditions
PLEASE WATcH THE VIDEO It factually details their whole horrifying experience and compares it with the totally opposite treatment offered to a cis gendered straight couple. PLEASE SHARE and if you feel as enraged as we do then please write or phone to exoress your opinions to either the Hotel and/or Marriotts HQ
