Having fun getting prepped about PrEP

San Francisco Filmmaker Chris Tipton-King has done the near-impossible.  He has made some informative and very in-your-face videos about sex (a topic that too many Americans take way too seriously) and the whole practice of PrEP (that has become way too controversial) and he has made them fun. He’s reminding us that talking about sex is sexy,  and embracing new ways to make it safe can also put the fun back into it all too.

What Tipton-King so succinctly succeeds in doing is tackling head on the stigma and cultural reluctance to discuss the concept of taking PrEP and even raising the topic of barebacking with prospective parters let alone Doctors who need to write the Prescriptions.  Quoting facts and figures of how the widespread use of PrEP in the San Francisco area have made the transmission rates of HIV really drop dramatically, he is not advocating for it universal use, but the fact that it is more than OK too for all of us to own our choices about what we do in bed

What makes Tipton-King’s Prep Project that more watchable is the mere fact as he financed it through a Kickstarter Campaign he was completely independent of any committee or government organization, so he was totally free to present all the relevant facts in a much edgier fashion which makes a lot of the footage most definitely NSFW.

The series weaves together interview footage featuring  a very frank and articulate activist Eric Paul Leue an ex Mr. LA Leather 2014 who is hot enough to ensure your attention never wanders (as if).  You can watch all four episodes on PrEP Project’s own site https://www.theprepproject.tv/ or their own You Tube Channel
