Happy Birthday iconic actress (and never a diva) Tilda Swinton ….. and we are far to polite to mention her age. One of queerguru’s very favorite Oscar winners, Tilda can currently be seen in Dr Strange that opened in US Theaters to some stellar reviews this weekend.
Yesterday marked the 70th anniversary of the birth of legendary photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. He is currently the subject of a biopic being filmed right now by Ondi Timoner called Mapplethorpe (well, there’s a surprise) and starring Matt Smith, and due to be in theaters next year. The two Mapplethorpe exhibits in LA in the summer have now closed, but there is always somewhere in the world where his work is bring shown. Check out http://www.mapplethorpe.org/ for details.
