One of the (many) qualities that we are proud of that our community practices is loyalty!  To our friends, family, and the rest of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Plus, the artists who share their culture with us.  More than once, we have been at Pride Rallies where the entertainer has made a point of thanking the crowd for their success (although once I was baffled, as I had never heard of this one grateful gushing woman!)  I am under no illusion that being gay is just one giant love fest, but most of us do our very best to respect and cherish each other and those allies who have made themselves part of our lives.

When it comes to people whose very success has been completely reliant on queer support, we may not always see eye to eye on everything, but I see it as nothing less than betrayal when as ‘our reward’ they rally behind vehemently homophobic people/organizations that want to destroy us.

The latest one is the pop diva Gloria Gaynor, who would never have had massive hits like ‘I Will Survive’ and “I’ll Never Can Say Goodbye‘ without queer people flocking to record stores.  The fact we collectively made her very rich as we did with other entertainers, is not the issue, but when they spend they newly found wealth to keep all those ‘haters’ in power is beyond hypocritical, it’s downright evil.

Ms Gaynor has donated so much money to  the GOP  that she is one of  handful of sycopnats that has been rewarded with the once prestigous Kennedy Center Honor Award  this year by the Orange Man in The White House .  This will be ‘the gift’ of the Felon who is misogynistic,  racist and homphobic
