Ginger Beer

If you don’t know English cockney rhyming slang you may not know that what the title of this play really means, although the picture may give you a big clue.

It’s the story of twenty-something Sammy as he tries to navigate the gay male scene.  It can all be tough going, between gay male saunas, chemsex parties and the pursuit of the perfect dick pic. It also can be a great deal of fun too.

This wonderful new original work  by upcoming playwrights Hallam Breen and Phoebe Simmonds hits London for three nights only, fresh from it’s sell-out success at this years Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It  explores the difficulties of modern gay life with vibrancy, honesty and warmth and is a wee gem.

Its last performance of this run at London Kings Head Theater is on Saturday 21st October, and queerguru recommends you beg, steal or borrow to get yourself a ticket.  After all where can you see a drama which gives you Grindr, Fisting, Drugs all whilst staying fabulous.

And we are guessing by now that you’ve worked out what a ‘ginger beer’ is.
