Every time the Spanish filmmaker Noel Alejandro releases another of his very explicit short movies, we re-visit the whole dilemma of whether this is art or pornography. His sixth movie ‘Doing Elliot’ is a cinematic depiction of an unexpected sexual encounter between two long friends. When Thomas first spots Elliot in his local park, he doesn’t actually recognize him, but when Elliot drops his ID card it prompts Thomas to meet up with him again. Elliot’s life has moved on somewhat since the two of them were in College together, and he now has a girlfriend and a beautiful house, but however more importantly, he has some unfulfilled desires from the past.
Alejandro is undeniably a very talented artist and an extraordinary gifted filmmaker and whilst his work treads this fine line bordering on pornography, he has a knack of making the sexual act rather pure and refreshingly beautiful, but always as hot as hell. This new film explores a real passion for sex and is explicitly raw, candid, funny and extremely tender. Filmed in Brussels with a real-life couple which brings a real authenticity to the piece, and helps make it one of Alejandro’s best movies to date.
Below is the ‘soft’ version of the trailer, but the very NSFW work one can be found at http://noelalejandrofilms.com/films/doing-elliot/ from where you can also stream the whole movie, and all the others that Alejandro has made.
