Could shooting porn with your boyfriend actually save your waning relationship ? Clyde thinks it will.

Scene + Heard is an annual curated theatre festival in Dublin that loves to support new practices by artists at all stages of their careers.  One of the pieces to be performed is the inaugural work ‘Clyde Inside’ from the queer production company Rock Bottom Saloon.

The new play written and produced by David Monaghan, Denny Redmond and Jack Maguire, follows a gay couple who attempt to save their troubled relationship through unorthodox means: a DIY porn shoot!

Directed by Ois O’Donoughue,  (creator of Jaxbanded Theatre)  described the piece as a hyperbolic, satirical, gender disruptive exploration of the performativity and voyeurism embedded in all our lives,” it interrogates the dynamic of the dissatisfied pair throughout the events of one evening in 2005. The multimedia elements of the play are what make it truly unique, with the DIY porn shoot being projected on screen as the action happens on stage. The live feed not only highlights the talent but also the underlying moments that only the camera can pick up.

The cast includes Denny Redmond, Evie O’Brien, Jimmy Kavanagh and Sorcha Dawson.

The 25-minute show will be performed on Tues Feb 20 and Wed, Feb 21, in Dublin’s Smock Alley Theatre’s Main
Space at 6:30pm. It is programmed as part of a double bill with Sam Noonan’s Transitions, a piece dedicated to
movement as a powerful communicator and instrument of change.
