This autobiographical tale is about a loser gay playwright who survives cancer, gets divorced and moves to New York to start his life over. Its the story of a very proud bottom.
Season One of the podcast made the Top 20 in 15 countries on the iTunes charts, and we have just heard that Season 2 is now up and running. It starts with Thompson moving to Key West when he is recovering from his cancer treatment. I started to listen as he talks about being at a low point of life, and he totally had me at “If I’m going done, i’m going down on as many men as possible“
During this recovery period he carries on with a ‘normal gay life’ such as navigating cruising grounds, clothing-optional resorts, art galleries, and dive bars.. However he brings his very English sharp observation and quick wit as he manages to find humor in the seemingly most banal daily activities. He is a sheer joy to listen too ….. especially if you share the same position during sex that he does.
