Berlin Folsom Europe : Leather, Kink ……oh yes, Queer Art too

If you ever needed an excuse to visit Berlin (as if) then QUEERGURU can give you several right now. Firstly its FOLSOM Europe’s Street Party celebrating  the 21st Edition of Europes  largest leather and fetish event.  And the organizers told Queerguru that they are expecting some 25000 visitors this year  ….

At the same time prideART Berlin eV presents its large autumn exhibition and this year the title  is “ UNBOUND: just a question of lust ”  Numerous artists from all over the world will present around 200 surprising works from the world of fetish to show dominance, greed, pain, tenderness, feeling, sensuality, trust and devotion. The 15th exhibition of prideART Berlin is taking place in the lavishly renovated atrium of the former prison in Lichterfelde and its many cells, where you can not only admire the works of art but also buy them.

What makes the trip more personal for the Queerguru team is that one of the artists taking part is GEORG MEYER-WIEL one of our favorite queer London based German artists., Direct from this recent smash hit show at Eric Lesh Gallery in Provincetown, he will be showing his work alongside  numerous international artists who will share their views and interpretations of fetish. He told QUEERGRU that he will  incude a series of new paintings in mixed media.  He was at pains to stress  to us that this will be the very first time he is prison ….. but we think that he does protest too much!
