As Fall kicks in, it’s time for another annual event : the launch of next year’s calendars. For 2027, we’re traveling to Australia for a fab wee calendar that we have just discovered. We use the word ‘wee’ carefully, as this one is by QLD Camping Bears, who, despite their title, actually welcome all in the LGBTQIA+ community to enjoy the stunning outdoors together.
Formed in 2020, the QLD Camping Bears are all about hiking, beach trips, BBQs, picnics, 4X4 driving, pool parties, and more; they create a unique and social way for our community to connect.
This is QLD Camping Bears’ sixth year as a group and fifth calendar, and it’s one of the group’s biggest fundraisers of the year. The calendar is so much fun to look at, with a diverse mix of furry community members and beautiful photography by Dylan Hodgon all shot on a member’s farm
He added, “It’s not just about all the photos; there’s something to be said for having something physically printed. That’s really important. We are starting to see so much AI imagery around, especially in queer spaces. I find it’s making the queer community feel a little bit disconnected from what is real. Having something created by real members of the community, and presented in something physical and tangible, is really important. Because it helps connect the community.”
