Atlanta’s OUT ON FILM : LGBTQ Fest celebrates with its 2026 Spring Mini Fest

As the Queer Film Fest 2026 global circuit is about to kick off for real with BFI Flare in London, we are going to squeeze in a side trip to Atlanta. Their big gig OUT ON FILM happens in the Fall, but Fest Director Jim Farmer thinks that is way too long to wait (question: is there such a thing as a patient queer man?) hence they are having a mini Spring Fest.  Actually, this is the 4th year running.

This year, the hugely-popular Mini-Fest includes three Southeastern Premieres, including the Georgia Premiere of artistic drama “In Transit,” which co-stars “Heated Rivalry’s” François Arnaud.(That got your attention eh!).  However, what the Queerguru team is even more excited is that they are screening the multigenerational Jewish queer family comedy “Bookends,” which was filmed in Columbus, GA, with a local crew.
Our senior Contributing Editor Ris Fatah raved about the film (see his full review HERE) and added to it “How the producers managed to snag Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham as Saul, his Holocaust surviving grandfather, and also Caroline Aaron as Miriam, the grandmother is this small indie movie is a mystery (to us), but it ensured that the end result exceeded all our expectations.
