The multi-Academy Award Winner writer/director Ang Lee is coming to P Town where he is about to be honored with the Film Festival’s prestigious 2016 ‘Filmmaker on the Edge’Award to add to his rather packed mantlepiece. Amongst Lee’s stunning body of work are two LGBT all-time favorites The Wedding Banquet and the superlative Brokeback Mountain (the latter was ‘robbed’ of Best Picture Oscar, but that’s another story!)
Lee will be In Conversation with longterm P Town resident writer/director John Waters at the Town Hall on Saturday, June 18th @ 5 pm at Provincetown’s Historic Town Hall. Hopefully he will also be stopping by PTV ‘s Studio to talk to us too. Click here for tickets and information, and watch this space for our own interview.
Lee’s latest movie Billy Lynn’s Halftime Walk is due to be released this coming November by Tristar Pictures and is already the subject of some serious speculation that he, and the movie, will add to his collection of Oscars too. Here is a wee teaser trailer…
