Pope Francis repeated his opposition to openly gay men joining priest training colleges, and then joked that there were “already too many “‘frociaggine’” in some seminaries.
From the outside looking in, this appears to be part of the double standards the Catholic Church has towards homosexuality. Several prominent experts on clergy sexuality have estimated a third of U.S. priests are gay men, who serve a church that teaches being gay is “disordered,” in opposition to God’s plan.
