So this year there will be NO Glastonbury Festival. Panic not, it will be back in 2027. Meanwhile, at that usual time this summer, there will be another event. Adonis, the people who have been running one of London’s most hedonistic and globally respected queer club nights, have announced a new queer camping festival
This cult queer rave is officially going big – really big. Meet Runway: a new LGBTQ+ camping music festival, landing 26–28 June 2026 on a disused airport runway (at the Glastonbury site) in the South of England.
The heart of Runway will be Runway Boulevard – a surreal, ever-shifting “street” inspired by historic queer neighbourhoods around the world. The idea is to honour queer spaces that once thrived (and in many cases, no longer exist). At the end of the Boulevard will be the festival’s main arena: a slick, techno-futurist playground designed for days of dancing, live music and performance art, programmed by people who actually understand the queer underground.
For the first wave, Runway has announced: Roza Terenzi, Aurora Halal, BASHKKA, Cormac, Clarisa Kimskii, Gabrielle Kwarteng, Leonce, LYDO, Karim Olen Ash, Miss Twink USA, OMOLOKO, OK Williams and Peach. Plus Adonis residents: Seb Odyssey, Marie Malarie, Byron Yeates, Hannah Holland, Gideön and Grace Sands – with plenty more names still to come.
Founder Shay Malt told QUEERGURU, “Doing a festival means creating a whole world – something we can’t do inside a club. It’s about building a full fantasy from start to finish, collaborating with queer talent every step of the way.”
