Brit photographer COLIN DAVIS’s body of work is classically beautiful, explicitly sexual and queer, and is part of artsoqueer.com.

Colin Davis is a London based photographer  who states   “I am inspired to create images that are the intersection of classically beautiful, explicitly sexual and queer. I feel there is a real aversion to graphic sexuality as something that can be beautiful in a fine art context – outside of a few like Mapplethorpe and Araki, it’s incredibly difficult in the era of sanitised social media. It’s impossible to promote your work if no one can see it. I’d like to widen the breadth of what is acceptable and even revered. I’d love for more work like this to be hanging in the Tate.

He adds.  I make my queer fantasy world in images: a world with dark, sticky corners and figures in leather.   I want to create lush, constructed, hyper-realities seen in the works of Gregory Crewdson, Jeff Bark, and Erwin Olaf (where a single photo tells a story) that also exude a palpable sense of sexuality. I want to make work that broadens the range of what fine art is: queer, kink, explicit.

Sadly his 4 day Show at Velorose in London ends on July 8th BUT you can access a great deal more of his work at ArtSoQueer.com.  This  is a space for queer (and allied!) artists & content creators to post and control any content you create without fear of censorship.  (artsoqueer.com is part of the decentralized social network powered by Mastodon.).  Its a cause very dear to QUEERGURU’s heart as Online Censorship on SM is  now extremely paranoid  and homophobic and is seems to only getting worse .  Hence this particular post will ONLY be available on www.queerguru.com
