Turn Back Time : Noelle Gordon of Crossroads at Christmas

You really have to be a Brit (of a certain age) to recognize one of the UK’s most successful Soap Stars of all time as Noelle Gordon who starred in TV’s Crossroads for about 20 years starting in the 1960’s.  Gordon played Meg Richardson the owner of the Crossroads Motel which was based in blue-collar Birmingham which a disdainful Richardson always felt was well beneath her social status as only a true middle-class snobby Brit would.

She was however immensely popular and when the show’s producers eventually decided to axe the program, there was such an enormous public outcry you would have thought they has actually threatened to kill the poor woman too.

Looking back now some 30 years later, it is hard to even fathom what on earth all the fuss was all about.  Yet to some the sight and sound of Noelle as Meg singing We Need A Little Christmas with her perfect British diction will bring tears to their eyes, whilst most others will just react like the girl in the green dress in the video.
