Even here in P City (Paris) word has filtered through that the lights are less bright back in P Town with the passing of (John) Michael Grey one half of the iconic Hat Sisters. Michael and his husband Tim’s ‘art’ was always full of the joie de vivre and totally captured the true spirit of what this wee town at the very tip of Massachusetts really stands for, and was such a breath of fresh air in a town that has more than its fair share of pretentious artists who take their work far too serious.
There was no Parade in town, or Charity Event, or Drag Brunch, or Tea Dance which they didn’t adorn with their larger than life presence which always made the occasion such a blast of fun and a undisputed success. Their selfless giving, and their joyous energy has touched us all whether we be full time residents or visitors of P.Town, and we are totally indebted to them both.
P Town is that much less fabulous today …… and our condolences to Tim for his very sad loss.
