Already in Madrid this year there have been 98 reported hate crimes against LGBT people in the city ….. there was just 36 for the whole on 2015. This new short film Por Un Beso (For a Kiss) was actually made the day after the Orlando killings, and was released in conjunction with Madrid Pride as a tribute to them.
It serves as a reminder of the thrills of finding romance among faces in the crowd, and the dangers that gay men continue to face in showing that love in a public place
Director David Velduque told El País, “I invested [in the film] because I think it is very necessary to not forget that the rights for which the LGTBI community has fought have been very difficult to achieve. It is very important not to forget that continued visibility, awareness and education is key to achieving a society where love is not.”
Por Un Beso was made in collaboration with Spanish gay magazine Shangay and stars Pelayo Rocal and Fernando Hevia.
