Just 3 days left to see SCREAM QUEER MURDER the latest comedy/drama in London Kings Head’s Queer Future Series. It is billed as A fabulosa queer murder mystery with lashings of POLARI. Bona! This queer dark comedy is set in 1953 and two queer men are inside the head of a famous murder mystery author waiting to be written into her latest novel. Excitement turns to suspicion and fear when the penny drops that one of them must kill the other. In desperation, they turn to their own language – the queer language of POLARI – to turn the tables on the author.
Commissioned by the International Agatha Christie Festival, it is performed by the award-winning Theatre North group. It’s written by Martin Lewton and directed by Andrew McKinnon and starring Morgan Leigh Jones, Martin Lewton, and Isobel Arnett … the play will end on August 12th.
Still not convinced then maybe these warnings about the performance will persuade you: Violence, full nudity, sexual assault, homophobic/derogatory language, fake weaponery !
This is part of Fourth and Final Season of The Takeover @ Kings Head – David Cumming’s Queer Futures:
