We mourn Gwynevere River Song the 17th transgender US citizen murdered in 2017

Whatever else is going on globally this week in these very tough and trying times, we still need to take a moment to honor the memory of Gwynevere River Song who was the 17th transgender person to be killed in the United States in 2017.

Song, aged 26 and a 2015 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, was murdered after an argument Saturday afternoon in Waxahachie, Texas turned violent.

Trans Pride Initiative made a post on Facebook about the Memorial which is being held on August 21 at 2pm, in Waxahachie, and according to the post, Song’s mother Marcella Mosher welcomes people from the community to the memorial.

According to a recent report, more LGBTI people have been killed in 2017 so far than all of 2016. This tragedy only furthers that horrific reality.
