I know when you have been a part of the queer community for as many years as Queerguru’s Editor you should be no longer be so prone to surprises about the community. But this latest very pleasant shock is to discover that a new excellent documentary about gay bear men has been made by a self professed TWINK.
Chris Stanley, one of social media’s fastest rising gay content creators with nearly 2 million likes , took his camera to the 24th Edition of the Annual Bear Week in Provincetown to see what makes these happy, mainly bearded rotund men, tick. Having no idea of what to expect from this slight looking young man, it was so refreshing to see the respect and qenuine sincerity he had when approached all the willing participants in this affectionate look at theie community.
Since he is attracted to more bearish or chubby men, this new video is part of a series talking about why these body types are attractive, in the hopes that gay people everywhere would be more accepting and confident with their body type, no matter how they look). His main goal is to show young queer people that it gets better, and anything is possible.
If you are unfamiliar with Provincetown the gay mecca at the tip of Cape Cod then you should know that the whole Summer is made up of a series of ‘theme’ weeks. They range from Baby Dykes, Circuit Boys, Gay Family, Men of Color , Carnival Week etc etc but by far the very best, and most enjoyable is Bear Week. Watch this delightful doc and you will understand exactly why.
