UK’s PINK NEWS online celebration Pride For All

Pride For All a kaleidoscopic digital festival organized by UK’s leading queer media PINK NEWS   – is back for its second year, packed with live talks, interactive events, and a virtual march.

It kicks off on Tuesday (8 July) and runs until Thursday (10 July), bringing queer celebration and protest to the homes of the LGBT+ community when they need it the most.

This year’s theme is resilience: in the face of the pandemic, in the face of anti-LGBT+ hate, and in the face of the countless obstacles the queer community has faced throughout history. The three-day event will feature live conversations with activists including human rights campaigner Peter Tatchell and UK Black Pride co-founder and Kaleidoscope Trust executive director Lady Phyll, as well as exclusive content from favorite LGBT+ celebrities and influencers.

Pride for All is in aid of Kaleidoscope Trust, a UK-based charity working to uphold the human rights of LGBT+ people across the world. Their vision is a free, safe and equal world for LGBT+ people everywhere. With your help, Kaleidoscope Trust can ensure no LGBT+ person is left behind in the fight for freedom, safety and equality. Donate to support Kaleidoscope Trust’s work.

Interactive events include a free queer self-empowerment workshop, Party with Ginger’s drag bingo, wig-styling and make-up tutorials, and a Pride special of PinkNews’ inclusive fitness Snapchat show, WerkOut.

Here are a few of our picks from the Program

Lesbians Free Everyone — Pride for All screening

Tuesday 8th June  (available until 10th June)

25 years ago, Lesbians from all over the world arrived at the UN 4th World Conference on Women in Beijing China, and embarked on the biggest lesbian visibility campaign in history. In 2020, filmmaker and activist Bev Palesa Ditsie went online to commemorate some of the activists from around the world who were behind this campaign.

The film is funded by Kaleidoscope International Trust, with support from Outright International and FOKUS – Forum for Women and Development.

Check out the panel organized by OutRight International with Bev Palesa Ditsie and the activists who were part of the film here.
