If sex positivity is an important issue for you then here’s a chance to for your first good deed for the new year and you can help crowd-fund a new documentary on the subject. Maja Classen’s ongoing 30-minute experimental film “Truth or Dare” explores stories of intimacy, desire, and diversity in sex-positive spaces and she needs help to finish it.
The film shows sex-positive club spaces in Berlin that have always offered a haven from heteronormativity. These are safe spaces for sexual and political self-determination and self-empowerment. However the Covid lockdown affected the freedom of such places and Classen took her camera through empty clubs longing for sweaty bodies, passionate dates in private bedrooms, and virtual spaces to share secrets anonymously.
Classen filmed people having intimate encounters in darkrooms. Just lit enough to see enough to create suspense, but never enough to identify people. She filmed other sexual encounters in private places – places where people could live out their desires even during the lockdown. Partly illegal.
In order to be able to complete the film “Truth or Dare”, Classen and the Berlin production company Poison have started a crowdfunding campaign . Meanwhile here’s a sneak preview
