Trixie Mattel probably has one of the most wicked senses of humor of any of the graduates of the ubiquitous  RuPaul’s Drag Race. She  is known for her exaggerated, 1960s-influenced style, distinctive eye makeup, and musical repertoire that blends comedy with acoustic pop and folk-country music. But it’s her rapid-fire wit that makes her a favorite of ours.  And evidently of Jimmy Kimmel too. When he started Jimmy Kimmel’s Drag Queen Storytime back in 2023,  Trixie Mattel read Ted Cruz’s book, Unwoke: How to Defeat Cultural Marxismin America. The idea, she said’ was to give young people a chance to “decide on their own what they think about it.”

Since then, events like this have been hate targets from the Religious Right in the US, who shout loudly against anything and everything they personally do not approve of. There have been multiple attempts to restrict drag queens from accessing spaces where children may be. A 2023 report by the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) found 100 incidents targeting drag queen story hours between June 1, 2022, to May 20, 2023.^[78]: During the time period studied, the ISD report found Proud Boys, White Lives Matter, Blood Tribe, Protect Texas Kids, and Guardians of Divinity groups involved in various incidents targeted at Drag Queen Story Hour events. And that was all before The Orange Man moved into The Whiite House and started his regime of senseless destruction.

So Jimmy Kimmel who’s already had his very published fight with The Orange One ….. which he won hands down….. has revived ‘Drag Queen Storytime’ segment on his TV Show with Trixe taking the first slot. Who before she started asked  he kids,  “Do I scare any of you?”  The kids all answer no, laughing. One even replies: “You just look amazing. Why would that be scary?”

In her hilarious performence (see video below) she asked her audience to help her choose which book to read from.  “Well, I have a whole pile of books here. What if we chose one together?” Mattel went on. “Because this is, after all, a democracy. As of this morning, it’s still a democracy. I’m not sure.”   She asked if they would like her to read a book by Donald Trump, and they all collectively groaned ‘NO”

“Hold up! What about President Trump’s least favourite son?”  And as there was the exact same reponse, Mattel told her audience  “Listen, we have to pay respect because his ghost writer worked really hard on this.”   And then added “Is everyone here potty-trained? Eric isn’t potty trained.” Mattel continued.

She then read a number of extracts from the book, including Eric’s statement that his father has “a heart of gold.”   LOL
