Tony Award Winner LILLIAS WHITE want us “to go out and get yourself some happy!”

It maybe her 70th year but Broadway Star Lilias White seems to be busier than ever. The Tony/Drama Desk/Obie Award Winner for her performance in The Life, has just released her very first studio album.

In her signature style, the debut album, following the cast recordings on which she is heard, presents a contemporary mix of Motown, standards, rock-and-roll, Broadway, blues, and jazz, re-invented for current audiences. The selection is focused on the theme of happiness, with blockbuster songs that range from “Accentuate the Positive” and “Put On A Happy Face” to “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy,” “Make Someone Happy,” and “Get Happy”.

The album is dedicated to the memory of her long time musical director/accompanist Timothy Graphenreed who sadly recently passed away

This weekend White is due to make her Provincetown debut with two nights performing at the Art House accompanied by  Seth Rudetsky at the piano .

Before that White has been rehearsing to step back into the shoes of Matron “Mama” Morton for the upcoming Broadway return of Chicago on September 14th.   Here she is with her shop stopping number  “When You’re Good to Mama”
