This could be TOM HARDY’s year with two hot new movies set to be released giving us three chances to see him in action.
In LEGEND, Hardy plays both Ronnie and Reggie Kray the notorious gangster twins who ruled London’s underworld in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Based on their real life story from John Pearson’s book ‘The Profession of Violence: The Rise and Fall of the Kray Twins’ the movie is written and directed by Academy Award winner Brian Helgelan deals with the rise and fall of the Kray twins. Both of them were closeted gay men who were devoted to their mother, and movie deals with the relationship that bound them together, and charts their gruesome career to their downfall and imprisonment for life in 1969.
Is this possibly Mr Hardy’s first Academy Award nomination in the making?
In Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s (Academy Award Winner for last year’s BIRDMAN) latest movie THE REVENANT due to be released on December 25th, Hardy plays a 19th Century fur trapper alongside Will Poulter & Domhnall Gleeson. When fellow frontiersman played Leonardo DiCaprio gets mauled by a bear, they rob him and leave him to die. However he survives and sets out to get his revenge on them all.
