Broadway will be that much brighter next Spring as it has just been announced that the openly gay heartthrob actor LUKE EVANS  will make his debut in Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of The Rocky Horror Show. He will be playing the iconic and maniacal Dr Frank-N-Futer, a role originated by the legendary Tim Curry.  Evans is no stranger to musicals, having starred in the West End productions of Rent and Avenue Q.

This production, directed by Oh, Mary!’s Sam Pinkleton, will have previews beginning on 26 March 2026 and opening at Studio 54 on 23 April. Performances are currently scheduled to run until 21 June.  In a statement, Pinkleton said, “I’m giddy to crack this untamable classic open with the razor-sharp Luke Evans at the centre. And I hope to do at Studio 54 what The Rocky Horror Show has done for people around the world for decades – open a dimension to another possible reality,”

In 2003 Rosie O’Donnell was so enamoured with the TABOO the Leigh Bowery/Boy George Musical in London show that she decided to finance a Broadway production. After 16 previews, a new revised version of Taboo opened on November 13, 2003, at the Plymouth Theatre with a new book by Charles Busch. However it wads met by harsh scathing reviews, the production closed after 100 performances. O’Donnell reportedly lost her entire $10 million investment in the project and she said in a 2007 interview about Leigh Bowery that she wants to take Taboo back to Broadway in the future. NOW Michael Longhurst – acclaimed Olivier nominated director of award-winning productions and former Artistic Director of The Donmar Warehouse – has joined the creative team for the new version of Boy George‘s hit musical Taboo, that Thomas Hopkins Productions   has had in development for the past few years.  This new version features a new book by Olivier-nominated writer and performer Jack Holden (Cruise, KENREX) and Boy George, based on the original book by Mark Davies Markham. No Date for the Opening has been set YET

This winter award-winning Brit actor Daniel Brocklebank will be taking over the role of Dr Frederick Frankstein in their production of Mel Brooks’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN THE MUSICAL when it transfers to Liverpool Playhouse for a limited 5-week run over the Christmas season.  Brocklebank is best known for his regular roles in British soaps such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale but he also won a SAG Award for his performance in Shakespeare In Love (Miramax) and in 2010, he won a Best Actor Award at the LesGaiCineMad International Film Festival for his role in the British indie queer film Release

The Tony Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary! is a spoof of the lives of Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln. It is set in the days leading up to Lincoln’s assassination, which occurred while he and Mary were watching Our American Cousin at Ford’s Theatre. Written and originally performed by American comedian Cole Escola, the first openly non-binary winner of a Tony Award its now heading to London’s West End. It will star Mason Alexander Park  (The Sandman), who is part of the transgender community and is non-binary
