The Show Will Go On (even in a pandemic) check these dedicated queer & queer centric shows still on

Whilst the Pandemic has turned the theater world on its head and closed so many excellent productions too soon and often for good.  Here’s a few queer (and queer-centric) around the globe…… in Belfast, London, New York and Miami …. that believe the ‘show must go on.’

Writer/performer Linus Karp is taking his smash hit play HOW TO LIVE A JELLICLE LIFE to the Accidental Theatre in Belfast The show provides a jellicle discussion about the jellicle aspects of the jellicle cats in ‘Cats’ and how you can apply them to your life in order to make it truly jellicle.

March 4th - 5th

The Land of Lost Content. Henry and Jake grew up with their mates in a quiet country town called Dulowl. A town where friendships were forged in failed adventures, bad habits and damp raves as they stumbled through adolescence looking for something to do. Then Henry moved away.

Now he’s back but there’s no enjoying a welcome-home-pint without facing up to the reasons … and people he left. Welcome to a town where worlds are turned upside down in an instant, yet nothing seems to change.

Writer Henry Madd stars alongside Darragh Hand (Nouveau Riche’s For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy, New Diorama), in this funny and deeply moving blend of theatre and spoken word.

Writer and performer Reece Connolly’s queer horror-comedy SUCKER 4 U is Billed as a very dark, very rude queer comedy, the show is about a doomed interdimensional romance between a man and giant-monster-squid-from-beyond-the-stars!

Taylor Mac is a Fabergé radical—beautiful, ridiculous and full of hidden tricks—who pilots audiences through fantastical journeys, guided by the compass of magnetic individuality. The latest is a jazz musical, with a libretto by Mac and music by Matt Ray, that expands the final hours of Socrates’s life into a queer, transhistorical “ritual celebration” that explores questions of virtue. Mac leads a cast of nine, directed by Niegel Smith and choreographed by Chanon Judson; the explosively imaginative Machine Dazzle designs the sets and costumes.

Here, Manhattan, NY

When Monica Met Hillary. We have no idea if this one is any good as it is yet to have its World Premiere in Miami of all places. It’s blurb reads : “Girl meets boss. Girl falls for boss. Girl loses everything. A First Lady breaks the glass ceiling…only to find another. Monica and Hillary have never met. Until now”
