The PappyShow is an ensemble theatre company that creates space for people to dance, play and celebrate their authentic voice is heading to the Barbican Theatre in London with their show called BOYS.
The PappyShow was formed in 2013 by their Artistic Director Kane Husbands who is also a lecturer at Central St Martins School of Art. His concept to bring people together to move, dance, create moments of radical joy, share stories and take time just to PLAY! That is still their mission but their identity has become clearer. They exist as a social enterprise – working across performance and platforming the marginalized identities that we believe society could do better with.
Weaving slick choreography and dialogue with a soundtrack of contemporary beats, this award-winning show celebrates male tenderness, silliness, vulnerability, and community. Joyful, electric, unscripted, and occasionally raw but always tender. BOYS was created by this 10-strong company of men of color to unravel preconceptions and uncover the endless possibilities of masculinity.
The Show was the winner of the Origins Outstanding New Work Award at VAULT Festival.
