It may come as something of a surprise to learn that the larger-than-life fashion designer turned talk show host Isaac Mizrahi can sing too! And actually to some acclaim as he is just to start another two-week residency The Marvelous Mr. Mizrahi, at the legendary cabaret club in NY Café Carlyle.
Mizrahi is planning to perform a range of his favorite songs from Arthur Freed to Grace Jones accompanied by his band of jazz musicians led by Ben Waltzer. At his last sellout run there The New York Times noted, “he qualifies as a founding father of a genre that fuses performance art, music and stand-up comedy.”
Fresh from a stint playing Amos in Chicago on Broadway Mizrahi will be starring at the Carlyle from February 14-25.
Performances will take place at Café Carlyle from February 14-25 (Tuesday-Saturday) at 8:45pm..
