The Queerguru Team has no idea why up to now we have not heard more about writer/producer Radha Blank.  But that is all about to change with the release of THE FORTY YEAR VERSION  a movie based on her own life story  in which she wrote, directed and starred in.

Netflix has just released the first trailer of the film that premiered at Sundance earlier this year. and it looks frigging hilarious

Blank doesn’t disguise  the fact that she is really playing herself. a Brooklyn playwright that simply cannot catch a break . The play she’s writing is way too heavy for a rich white producer and his equally rich white audience.  To put food on her table she’s been  teaching theater to school kids who are even more reluctant than her about the classes.

Now shes reaching 40 years old not only is her work going nowhere  neither is her  empty love life.  She needs to make a big change, and much to everyone’s consternation and humor, she decides to become a rapper.  Well, you wouldn.’t you?

In this clip the totally charming Hall completely captivates as not only does she give us plenty to laugh out loud about, but also from the word go she has us in her corner willing her to succeed. She probably will especially as she has  the steady hand of Lena Waithe on board as one of the producers
