Just over 2 weeks away is the 2025 Edition of the CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, which will include the highly anticipated world premiere of PILLION, the debut feature by Brit writer/director Harry Lighton. This queer biker drama based on ‘Box Hill’ by Brit queer novelist Adam Mars-Jones stars the impossibly handsome (and very straight) Alexander Skarsgård’ as Ray the leader of the motorbike club and who is the ‘dom’ to a very submissive Colin played by Harry Melling,
In this drama that has been described as ‘fun and filthy romance with heart‘“ Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way. “But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another?
We are not overly fond of heteroromantic actors being ‘gay for pay’ but we must admit from the first still that has just been released, we can see Colin is very convincingly gazing up at Ray!

P.S Our hats are off to Melling, who shot to fame playing the cantankerous Dudley Dursley in the “Harry Potter” franchise, and opened up about his views on the transgender community in the wake of author J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans controversies. During an interview with The Independent back in 2023, Melling voiced his unequivocal support for the trans community. “I can only speak for myself, and what I feel, to me, is very simple, which is that transgender women are women and transgender men are men,” Melling told the British outlet. “Every single person has the right to choose who they are and to identify themselves as what’s true to themselves.” |
