For the past 40 years, Maryalice the Resident DJ at PTowns Boatslip Resort has been spinning the music at the now legendary daily Tea Dance. At 4pm sharp every day in the summer the first track is played and the fun never stops until 7 pm. She has an uncanny knack for playing just the right music at the time to get the packed queer crowd in the best party mood to kick the evening off.
Some nights have dedicated themes such as Solid Gold Thursday when she plays the favorite tracks that most of the crowd grew up on and probably lost their virginity to. It is one of the most popular nights of the week none more so than in the annual Bear Week when PTown is overrun by hirsute men who are a more body-positive and generally friendlier crowd who like to party hard. They literally take the title ‘solid gold ‘ to heart for their dress code for the night and shine like the brightest.
