We are so tempted to catch a plane to Italy right now, as the Venice Film Festival is hosting the World Premiere of Pablo Larrain’s highly anticipated new movie SPENCER. It’s the story of the three days in the life of the late Princess of Wales when he decides to end her marriage to Prince Charles.
Starring Kristen Stewart, who is believed to have given an award-worthy performance as Diana, plus Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, Jack Farthing and Sean Harris. Larraín, also helmed the successful Jackie Kennedy biopic Jackie in 2016.
This new film comes after Oliver Hirschbiegel’s Diana biopic in 2013 starring Naomi Watts which was panned universally by critics and only managed a measly 7% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Spencer is due to be released in movie theaters on November 5, 2021
Meanwhile, if you want to know what Diana’s ex-in-laws are up too you will have to wait until 2022 for season 5 of The Crown on Netflix. Imelda Staunton takes over as The Queen, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Phillip, Dominic West as Prince Chrakes and hottie Jonny Lee Miller appears as Prime Minister John Major
Still can’t get enough of British Royals and aristocracy? Then you’ll be happy to know that Downtown Abbey : A New Era will be hitting big screens in March 2022 Covid has delayed a lot of plans, but this one is so worth waiting for. It also has Imelda Staunton and Dominic West in its cast …… as we haven’t for enough actors in the Uk who can play ‘posh!”
