a gay bar and performance space in Brooklyn is about to host the New York prodcution of “Shooting Star,” a musical love story set in the world of the gay adult film industry.
It tells the story of Taylor, a young, struggling Hollywood actor, who finds himself rocketed to stardom as porn performer Taylor “TNT” Trent. Through Taylor’s eyes, we are introduced to a family of lovable misfits whose profession is making our wildest fantasies come alive.
As Taylor achieves the fame he long sought, he discovers that the life you dream of may not always be the one you truly want.
This semi-autobiographical, musical love story was written and conceived by Florian Klein (award-winning porn star Hans Berlin) who told Queerguru “I was compelled to write Shooting Star after entering the porn industry when I found that that world was not as horrible as I feared it might be, and as I think many assume it is. What I actually found was people still wholeheartedly chasing real dreams, real connections and real feelings. I was fascinated by this world that was not that different from Hollywood at all, and I really wanted to talk about it.”
