The veteran Indian born British actor Saeed Jaffrey died at his home in London yesterday aged 86. This international star of both British and Bollywood movies had a very successful career that stretched back over 50 years and included such notable movies as ‘The Man Who Would Be King’, ‘A Passage to India’, ‘Gandhi’ etc. as well as appearing in popular TV shows like ‘Coronation Street’. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his unforgettable performance in 1985 in the gay classic movie Stephen Frears ‘My Beautiful Launderette’.
