One of the best words we use to describe queer producer/director Ryan Murphy is ‘prolific’.  He has so won many awards, including six Primetime Emmy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, a Tony Award, four Producers Guild of America Awards and two Golden Globe Awards, including the honorary Carol Burnett Award.  We are thinking that may be the reason that he owns three houses in Provincetown (where he is almost a neighbor of Queerguru) and where the town recognized him earlier this year with their Filmmaker In The Edge Award 

Since he signed the largest development deal in television history with Netflixhis work output has been the most prolific of any producer/  Querguru’s favorites from his very impressive resume inc Nip/Tuck (2003–2010),, Monster (2022–present), the 2006 film adaptation of Augusten Burroughs‘ memoir Running with Scissors, and the 2014 film adaptation of Larry Kramer‘s play The Normal Heart, and the 2020 film adaptation of the musical The Prom.

His latest TV series THE SHARDS is an adaptation of  a 2023 autofiction/horror novel by American author Bret Easton Ellis, and was his first novel in 13 years.  It’s a fictionalized memoir of Ellis’s final year of high school in 1981 in Los Angeles. The novel’s narrator, Bret, relates the story of the events of his senior year of high school in 1981, of he and his close circle of friends’ acquaintance with new student Robert Mallory and the tragedy that followed.   It premieres on Fx/Hulu on August 5th……. and the buzz in Provincetown, Murphy is looking for more space.  For more awards.
