Queerguru’s Ris Fatah returns to London’s Kings Head Theatre for the hilarious AND THEN THE RODEO BURNED DOWN

And Then The Rodeo Burned Down★★★★
Kings Head Theatre in Islington until 11th February.

And Then the Rodeo Burned Down is a delightful theatrical romp of a queer rodeo currently on at London’s iconic Kings Head Theatre in Islington. New York-based writer/performer duo Chloe Rice and Natasha Roland have brought their playful cowboy clown show into town after winning a Fringe First award at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won rave reviews.

The rodeo is the best place in town so why would anyone burn it down? That’s the mystery the clown, wannabe-cowboy, faces with their clown shadow who mimics all their actions. The two romp and clown around for an hour as they try to solve this mystery, flirt with each other, ridicule machismo and discuss the perennial problem of funding fringe theatre. This fast-paced show is full of tumbling antics, theatrical posturing and a sharp, humorous dialogue. All are accompanied by a soundtrack including gems by Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. The two girls are super-cute together in their colourful chaps, western shirts and cowboy hats. Their unique cartoon, vaudeville energy is a breath of fresh air. Lots of fun for a dark January evening.
