Hello Salem! My Name’s Winifred, what’s yours? If you know how to continue this song, you are at the right spot. Why? Well, because obviously you cannot wait for Halloween, and the chances of you being gay are very high because 1) remembering the lines of unimportant but funny songs and 2) Bette Midler, y’all. So, now that we established that, let’s see if you are going to organize a little Halloween party this year, or not. If the answer is yes, then you probably have a lot of things on your mind regarding the organization, and this is where we step in. Take a look at how to throw one of the best gay Halloween parties not only this year, but this decade. So, let’s make the last Halloween party of the decade the gayest one!
Find a sexy costume
The host cannot have just any costume now, can he? Take a look at Heidi Klum – she really outdoes herself every single year. This means that the first step would be to find a very sexy outfit. Since you want to be very original and not at all cliché, you might want to think outside of the box. Think of sexy movie characters or people from history. If these characters (or personalities) are alive today, give them a twist of being dead – a semi-naked zombie Mitch Buchannon might be a great choice, for example. Or, perhaps you want to be a vampire Tarzan and show your abs while showing your fangs. You are the host, so make sure to invest a bit of hard work into your choice of costume.
Spooky cocktails
If you are throwing a Halloween party, then you know that the majority of your time will go into organizing your bar. So, first things first – spooky cocktails. There is a plethora of recipes online, so make sure to use some and make some of the best Halloween cocktails, such as Bloody Mary that we all love. However, know for a fact that not everyone likes to drink cocktails, so you need to have clean drinks for some. Wine is a great Halloween drink (probably because it resembles blood), while others prefer white, so opting for a mixed wine case is definitely the best idea. Make sure to have whiskey, vodka or gin as these are very popular options for drinks as well. Oh, and don’t forget the beer for the jock tops.
Singles vs Doubles
Separating the party into two smaller parties – the party for singles and the party for doubles might seem as rather unfair, but it can save your party or make it even more interesting. Single gays are literally crazy and they will do anything they can to serve some good time (and sass). Of course, you will not be dividing the people literally, but letting them have red and green (or since it’s Halloween green and orange) bracelets might do the trick.
The buffet
As far as food is concerned, you might not want to go very crazy with it. People will definitely want to snack on something while they are drinking, dancing or even lip-syncing for their lives, so put a buffet in the corner. Unless you have time to make the food yourself, you can always use the services of a good catering company which will make tasty finger food for the occasion. Also, have a cake and sweets that will match the theme – there are recipes online to make them yourself, or if not, ask a friend who’s good in the kitchen or order something and have it delivered.
Think of the details
The details that you have to think about first of all include the invitations and the way you will give them out. So, you can opt for evites, which is basically sending the invitation through a
social network such as Viber, Whatsapp or Telegram, or you can have them printed and handed out. Moreover, what music will you be playing? The safest option would be to start with some Halloween-related music such as the soundtrack of the aforementioned Hocus Pocus movie, perhaps some Marilyn Manson, and then continuing with the hits of the decade. Of course, everything is up to you.
What else is there to say? Pick the right outfit, make your choices for the bar and the buffet and there you go. Oh, yes, and do not forget to decorate. But you’re gay after all, so you have thought about this first.
