Queerguru’s Jose Mayorgas reviews THE MIRROR a short homo erotic tale by Noel Alejandro NSFW

In the bedroom of a cozy apartment, Roberto (Marco Merenda) and Julian (Bast) hug and kiss each other tenderly, Julian suggests to share a joint, for Roberto visions and paranoia come alive as does a blue/greenish man named Elisium (Raúl Gordillo), the third subject of this emotional story that relates to the end of a couple´s relationship.

Visually appealing, appropriate setting and camera work add to this homo erotic tale that reflects on the affective aftermath of a breakup through desire, memory and fantasy; something unusually addressed in this genre of films since there are feelings and sorrow involved.

Elisium, the third guest from nowhere, observes the way a couple should / would like to spend time together before the farewell, and they do accordingly. The mirror of the title is a witness and a protagonist, too.

In times of fast consumption of images and immediacy, where everything seems irrelevant,  a reflection like the one proposed is timely. 7/10
