On Tuesday (22 June), Canada’s House of Commons passed a comprehensive conversion therapy ban, which prohibits all conversion therapy for minors and conversion therapy for adults if it is against their will, while also banning anyone from making a profit from or advertising the cruel practice. Stonewall Inn bans Anheuser-Busch beers after company donates big bucks to anti-LGBTQ politicians. The iconic Stonewall Inn is banning beers manufactured by Anheuser-Busch after it was revealed the company has donated over $35,000 to anti-LGBTQ state-level politicians. Anheuser-Busch makes Budweiser and Bud Light, Stella Artois, Michelob, and Shock Top beers, among several others. The company was one of several who claims to “celebrate Pride” while secretly funding the anti-LGBTQ movement that has been targeted by the #KeepYourPride campaign.   Read More 

The nearly-forgotten ‘Michael’s Thing,’ New York’s premiere gay mag from 1970 – 2000  “Michael Giammetta published Michael’s Thing between 1970-2000 as a guide to cultural and social happenings of the GLTB community. It was one of the main and most reliable sources of information. It also was a handy guide to the most important institutions of the early days of liberation, the gay bar. The covers of Michael’s Thing may have featured pretty boys almost in their all together but inside the focus was theater, dance, cabaret. They were all there, all the early voices of what would become queer culture. Freeman Gunter was an excellent critic.
