Queerguru’s Allison Ananis with her “Fall Back in Love” Music Reviews for November

20-year-old London-born, LA-based singer/songwriter  Aiyana-Lee debuted the sexy smoldering live video for her song “Bedroom.” This song is a bold, heart-on-sleeve statement about falling victim to old romantic habits. “Baby I’m not complaining, you got all that I need. I’m just saying, you know how to push me. You find it entertaining but the truth is nothing else could matter when the doors are closed. Because it takes one touch to bring me home.” A rapidly growing artist whose vocal depth speaks for itself, Aiyana-Lee’s “Bedroom” is raw and an honest form of her truest expression, as she comes to grips with some of the darkest and joyous times in a relationship.

THE legendary Tony Bennett and THE incomparable creative genius Lady Gaga released the music video for “Night and Day”, a track off of their recent duets album, Love For Sale. It comes after the music legend officially retired following his 95th birthday, as he battles with Alzheimer’s. Love For Sale, the new collaborative album with duet and solo selections from both artists, showcases the Cole Porter songbook of classic popular music and is the final studio recording of Bennett’s career, culminating Bennett and Gaga’s 10-year recording history. The first single from the album, “I Get a Kick Out of You,” was released on Tony Bennett’s 95th birthday celebrating the first night of Bennett and Gaga’s two sold out shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York this past summer. The album’s current single is the title track “Love For Sale.” Always sentimental, at some moments Gaga appeared to be on the verge of tears as she savored what was likely to be one of the last musical moments shared with the renowned entertainer. She describes in clips of the trailer the importance of Jazz and carrying it forward to future generations. I think what I enjoyed the most was witnessing such a sweet intergenerational friendship between these two iconic musicians. Check it out – it will bring you so much joy!

Openly gay Australian (via South Africa) pop artist Troye Sivan described his new single “Angel Baby” as a “surprise gushy doting adoring power-bottom gay ballad.” Sivan totally embraces and flaunts a lush, plush, 80s-infused sound in this track. He also released the music video on Oct. 13th and fans are absolutely LOSING IT over the steamy clips. It is sensual from start to finish, and that’s exactly the way he intended it to be. “This song and video are a celebration of love and queerness and tenderness and sex and fantasy,” he wrote on Instagram following the song’s release.  I absolutely love his authenticity and artistry.

It’s official. After a much-anticipated comeback, Adele has finally reemerged into the music scene and is releasing another album. I know, I’m freaking out too. To get all of her listeners excited for her upcoming album, 30, she released her new single, “Easy On Me,” and I must say, this gave me all of the feels. Instead of offering more tear duct ravaging balladry focused on long-gone exes or scorned romances, “Easy On Me” presents a different type of devastation: a plea for understanding following a breakup that has caused too much collateral damage. “There ain’t no room for things to change / When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways.” This beautiful (and heart-wrenching) song expresses the concept of empathy and forgiveness instead of a fight. Grab your tissues – After all, it IS ADELE.
