NY Real Estate Broker turned filmmaker Bryan Logvinsky has had real beginners luck with having the World Premiere debut of his short film CATHARSIS at TRIBECA. Its an intriguing experimental tale and the story of a ballet dancer on the eve of a major performance. dealing with his own demons since the recent death of his mother
Alex (played by Harrison Ball recently retired New York City Ballet Principal) has now moved in with his Russian Aunt (the fabulous Debby Harry ). Its not a wise move for him as she is an old-school immigrant full of superstitions and keeps insisting that the family is cursed. Its her idea that Alex goes for a late night appointment with the mysterious and rather creepy psychotherapist Dr Leechny (Marc Geller,). He has his own weird method of hypnosis which must have some good effect, as early next morning we capture Alex dancing wildly home through the near deserted NY streets. We’ll admit to be so impressed by this intriguing wee film, we saw it twice.
P.S. Fashion designer Zac Posen not only did the the costumes for the film but he was also Executive Producer. Plus Harrison Ball is his husband
